Download the 4 Finishing Practices below Dear Fellow Coach, I attended the game between West Ham v Bolton on Saturday 21 August 2010. West Ham looked by far the better team in the 1st half creating lots of chances. Bolton started the 2nd half very well and got an early goal, however again West Ham created more chances in the 2nd half too. Here are the game stats taken from SkySports.com: West Ham United Team Statistics Bolton Wanderers 1 Goals 3 8 Shots on Target 5 9 Shots off Target 3 5 Blocked Shots 3 22 Total Attempted Shots 11 So going by the stats above, you'll see that West Ham had double the amount of attempted shots and the most on target too. So why did they lose? FINISHING! That's the main reason. Seeing the game live high up in the stands you get to see everything off the ball and West Ham's build up play and movement off the ball was decent but it was the finishing that let them down. Even the only goal West Ham scored was a penalty kick.
